Woah! I forgot about this blog. Wow. I'm a bad blog-parent.

I so enjoy reading all the other blogs in the knitting world it's only fair that I update mine. It's a big unorignal but oh well :-D

I'm working on Knitty's Kate for my daughter. This took me about 4 hours last night, super fast!! I ended up knitting her flat because I hate working in the round unless i'm making a hat. She sort of looks like a one-armed weeble right now but that'll change tonight hopefully.

My 19 month old has a cold thus why the heck i'm up this early! I had her in bed with me last night because she refused to stay in her crib longer than an hour. I don't blame her, that's nothing better than a cuddle when one is feeling under the weather.

My son is going to be 5 on the 13th of the month. Oy. When did all this time fast?

We're back, California is lovely there are parts that really remind me of central PA. We had a good time at legoland, sea world, and coronado island!! I posted some pics on my flickr account.

I got my final package from my SP8! I didn't take pics before I put it all away in my after vacation cleaning psychosis. We loved everything though :-) (we being the kids and I). I posted a message on your blog in case you didn't see it before GO READ IT!! You were a great SP :-)

I'm debating to join SP9 or not. I guess i should go over to the SP9 blog to help me figure that out..i'm moving in Dec and I think that's during the exchange so that might be bad. Don't know.

I'm still not allowed to knit though i'm really starting to get twitchy about it...my hands still hurt a good bit by the end of the day no thanks to having two small children to take care of.

haven't gotten my test results back yet i'm stalling...i swear i'll go tomorrow though..or monday...

I'm having a lot of health issues. I'm waiting for test results to come back for several moderately scary things. In light of this I freaked out/broke down/whatever you want to call it. Hubby is off of work for two weeks to take care of me and the children so we decided to go somewhere, no use staying in this house waiting for phone calls and driving one another crazy.

so we're heading to the beach, san Diego. We're taking the kids to sea world and legoland, staying at a resort, and generally just relaxing.

apparently i have carpal tunnel and really shouldn't be typing either but...i mean i gotta do something!? i'm wearing this awful little wrist supports that are slowing cutting off the blood flow to my fingers. I need to go sit down with some ice on these wrists for at least 30 minutes. argh.

it's been raining here for two days. I thought i lived in the desert?

I knitted something new for my shop but I need the sunlight to get good pics of it so hopefully tomorrow i'll have something to show and be able to actually add it to the shop.

also i've been having this odd pain shoot up my fingers on my right hand it's so strange. it's like a charlie horse in my finger!?

I got a most excellent package from my SP8 today!! Mostly it was stuff for the kids and boy were they thrilled!

Yesterday I had to get the kids up and in the car at 5AM to get hubby to the airport. His grandfather was in bad shape and they didn't think he'd last the night. He ended up passing away 1PM EST while hubby was still on the plane enroute.

Argh.

So hubby is gone until Tuesday at 7PM, at least that's when his plane is supposed to land. I don't expect any delays since it's a straight flight with no layovers.

I post this because my time on the computer is going to be limited to when my youngest is sleeping.

this is going to be short

* i got a package from my SP8 and it was just freaking awesome!! sooo much yarn! and stitch markers! and popcorn!!! I didn't think to snap a pic and everything is put away. I suck. I will however take pics of everything at some point this week. Except for the popcorn....that's gone :-D

* my dear friend Nikki is coming all the way from PA to NM to visit me for my birthday (which is Sunday!) so i'm looking forward to that.

* high stress here due to situations out of our control. Just going with the flow here, dreading phone calls, and watching time go by.

* I think I'm going to have to rip out what I've done so far on my "Something Red" sweater. Things are looking a bit funky. Oh well i was only about 5 inches into it!

it was so muggy here today. I have all the windows open and the swamp cooler is swapin' but i really miss the central air :-(

And now it's raining agian so i just had to run around the house and close all the windows cause the rain's coming in'.

argh.

This is what I did last night:

They are all my own design and stitched on wool felt. I think i'm going to back them with some cotton and make them into little hanging pillows or something and list them on etsy. Any other suggestions for them?

I'm just finished and added a new plush to my shop. I've been making these for a couplel years now but not to sell...so we'll see how this goes. They are fun to make at any rate. If I actually *knew* to to write a pattern I would sumbit this to Magknits or Knitty. But for now I'm just gonna sell them.

I'm gearing up for a big art show so I've not been around and knitting has taken a backseat to sewing plush.

Today I did buy this pattern I saw it as a kit at Kpixie but I have some yarn I want to try it out with and since it was instant download after payment I cast on while my daughter was napping. The best part is that it's knitted from the top down all in one piece so it seems like it's going to be a pretty quick knit. I'm thinking I might make one for my mom for Christmas as well, after I knit it through once for me we'll see how I feel about the pattern.

I'm debating on buying this kit again for my mom (i really like my mom :-) ) but Kpixie won't wind the silk yarn into balls so it's a bit of a turn off. I don't have a ball winder and i'm a little afraid of attempting to do it myself especially with recycled silk yarn. I dunno, I'm still thinking about it.

Still no word on my brother.

I'm working on several things for an upcoming art show :-) I'm very excited as this is my *first* show. Hopefully the first of very many to come!!

I'm excited for the 1st mostly because it's payday but also because it's the 1st of JULY and July is my birthday month. I'm a huge dork and even at 23 I get excited about my birthday. My friend Nicole is flying out from PA to spend the week with me as my birthday gift :-) yay!

Hubby's birthday is also in July but he doesn't get as excited as me, actually he doesn't get excited at all. I'll be 24 this year, hub will be 28! Wow. When did that happen?

and my son is going to be 5 in Dec?! Holy Crap.

My brother passed out yesterday and the doctors think he has some sort of internal bleeding as well and anemia. On top of that he's at an army hospital it sounds serious since they took him over at 10:30PM last night.

Folk Bags

I'm craving German potato salad (which my GERMAN husband has never had) so i'm making it for dinner.

I got Folk Bags for the library today the fish bag caught my eye as something my kids would enjoy. I haven't had a chance to sit down and look at it yet.

I keep thinking of all the crap I have to do this weekend and then remember that crap..i have to WORK this is new :-D it's going to be very very nice to get out of the house though.

So I want a Nintendo DS Lite I need a little bar thingy so i can post my "nintedo fund" progress!! It's only 129 dollars but we're trying to budget things out and yeah...129 for some little toy isn't in there. However my birthday is July 23rd and I'm fairly certain that my parents are going to send some cash my way and instead of putting that towards bills I might just pop off and buy me a shiny new Nintendo and a game..hmmmm games. :-D

10 days from today i'm throwing a pirate-themed baby shower for one of my friends down here. Now the reason we're doing "pirates" is that 1) she's have a boy 2) she's obsessed with pirates and 3) we don't know any other women here.

yeah.

it's going to be her and i, my husband, her husband...and all the rest of the single guys in their office.

I also went to the BX yesterday and bought a Fisher Price Little People Pirate play set. It came with a little pirate, and a treasure chest.

I'm also knitting a baby viking hat per their request. Doesn't quite go with the theme but whatever. Maybe i'll also make a baby-pirate-blanket..or something. I'm not sure a baby blanket should have skulls and cross bones on it though. Still thinking on that one.

So the move went okay, however we were counting on someone to give us boxes and that fell through. We had abouth 7 boxes all together and had to keep bringing them over to the house, dumping them, and going back over to repack what was left. This got very tiring and frustrating.

Internet is back up, however MY harddrive CRASHED in my brand new laptop. I'm seriously considering buying a cheapy HP laptop from walmart and through my expensive Dell notebook out the window. Thankfully hubby backed everything up approx 45 minutes before the crash. So now we've got to call Dell and get another harddrive sent and argh. I'm very upset. I'm updating on the hubs computer, i suppose it's good to be married to a programmer. We've got three working computers right now and one DUD, and of course it happens to be mine.

I haven't even looked at yarn since we've moved. I haven't had time to do anything but kill random bugs (this house has sat empty for months) and set up appointments to get everything turned on and transfered. Also I *may* have gotten a new part-time job. However it seems everytime I get a "part time" job it slowly turns into a full time job and i end up living at my place of employment. We'll see how that goes.

All and all i think i'm ready for May to be over.

So like I said before, we're moving (!) we get the keys to the new house on Thursday and are planning on actually moving in over there on the 26th. I will have internet back on the 27 (can't live without it!)

Obviously for the next week or so i'm going to be SUPER busy packing, mommyin', moving, unpacking *sigh* but after that expect a super big update.

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I love anything as long as it doesn't kill my hands.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
I have the denise set so just that, I have a few pairs of striaghts but i just keep them in my knitting basket.

3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I would consider myself intermediate..i've been knitting for over 4 years

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
I have an amazon wish list as well as a knitpicks wishlist :-D

I like peach and vanilla

I do but trying to avoid it as i'm attempting to lose weight.

I like fall colors. My favorite colors are baby pink, forest green, and lime green. I'm strange.

I'm married, with 2 small children (my son is 4, my daughter just turned 1), and fat cat.

Yes all of those :-D

The Natuie pattern from knitty is so freaking cute! I've knitted one up, though he's still waiting for eyes and another one is just missing two tenticles. I'll post pics of them soon. I'm most likely moving...very soon, so i'm going to have to put my knitting on hold while we do the packing and unpacking. Gotta love the military :-)

So i started this Blog just for my knitting/crafty adventures. I used to have it combined with my LJ but...i post a lot of personal stuff over there and have decided to make it "friends only". So yeah knitting. Uh huh.
